Savannah Wedding Trip, Day 11-12

Hiked Foster Falls and then biked LBL.

Hiked Climber's Loop

Drove to Energy Lake Campground, LBL.

Dead-end

Even though this is a forest road, this terrain is as fun as single track.

Notes:

Watched a man stop and take his time driving his new, clean truck through a rough piece of road. I don't think appreciated me watching, but he was friendly when we spoke. Some folks buy trucks, but are reluctant to go off-road with them.

Civil War battlefields (Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain) make for really nice biking.

Georgia/Alabama, Silver Comet Trail

Savannah Wedding Trip, Day 9

It was a long 5-hour drive across Georgia to the The Beautiful Rock Campground, RV, and Music Park. When I arrived I took a walk around. It was a big place that appeared to have some music facilities, but everything was closed -- just a few campers who, like me, were biking the Silver Comet Trail just across the road.

Fueling up for a century ride

I failed on my bid to ride a century (100 miles). While most of the route was quite flat, there were some steep climbs took the wind out of my sails.
